How the code is organised

The appendix publishes hierarchical location codes. A six-digit locality code combines the two-digit state code, four-digit district code and the locality sequence.

State code

The first two digits identify the state or Federal Territory. Example: 10 is Selangor.

1008

District code

The first four digits identify the Daerah or Jajahan. Example: 1008 is Petaling.

100802

Locality code

All six digits identify a Mukim, Bandar, Pekan or other locality. Example: 100802 is Mukim Damansara.

Scope of this reference: the supplied appendix defines administrative and PBT codes, but does not define the parcel or lot-number suffix needed to form a complete parcel identifier. Any lot component should follow the responsible land authority's current schema. JUPEM also notes that its codes may change from time to time.
